Apologies if this has already been discussed elsewhere.

The current board/Shaw Park Developments both seem to be hanging around or asking for a percentage of any profits from a future stadium development. But the club doesn't own the County Ground, and Swindon Borough Council aren't going to give the club any land (why would/should they), so where are these profits going to come from?

Hmmmm?

Surely the Board isn't planning on buying large amounts of land on the open market and developing a stadium et al?

Any thoughts?

Short answer - don't know.

Guess:-
My only though it that perhaps the rights don't really relate to the county ground site itself, but to who legally owns the right to use the STFC 'brand' to build a new stadium anywhere. i.e. SPD have preferred developer status.

Alternatively, if the CG is to be redeveloped following the Trust blueprint, Fitton would need all revenue that would generate to offset the cost of the stadium. If some of it goes out the club then the project is no longer 'self financing'.
