a quick google of his name brings up lots of stuff about skateboarding,  which i assume isn't the same person.

iirc he's the brother of edward wray, founder of betfair...was he involved with betfair at all?

anyone got some info on the bloke? might be able to find some more of his associates.

He is indeed Edward Wray's big brother and best mates with the other co-founder of BetFair (which is how he and Wray got together). He's Fitton's partner in the IFA business they have, Gracchi something or other.

I was sooooooooo bored, I wanted to spend some time doing a bit of investigation about the other member of the takeover.

Mr Fitton has already stated that it is made up of at least 3 individuals....

Mr Fitton himself
Mr Jeremy Wray

and at least one other....last week he said one of the members of the consortium was a local man, with sports connections and worth several hundred million pounds.

Mr Fitton denied vehemently that Edward Wray (co founder of betfair) was involved in any way.

So I had a search (as one does!) and have put several clues together and am sure that I know who he is.

Mr Jeremy Wray's best friend is a man called Andrew Black, this Andrew Black lives locally in Gloucestershire, this Andrew Black is worth in excess of £200,000,000 and Mr Andrew Black is the other co-founder of none other than Betfair!

Mr Fitton only said that Edward Wray was not involved in the takeover.

I may be wide of the mark but hey, I was bored and putting several 2 and 2's together.

Well it took my mind off the club for an hour or so and kept me out of the way of the missus while she was cooking Sunday dinner!

I thought that Fitton confirmed that Wray ws involved, or did I get that wrong?

Jeremy Wray is...the older brother of Edward Wray (the rich one!)

But he denied Edward Wray was involved.

Meanwhile, Fitton has shed some light on the make-up of his consortium, with Jeremy Wray, brother of Betfair co-founder Edward Wray, named as his investment partner.

I think it's quite possible Black is going to be involved should Fitton take over. I think Black likes his football as well so it fits in well. Didn't know he lived locally but i do recall Fitton saying that he has done a lot of business with Black in the past and he has never said Black will not be involved.

he also said it was himself plus wray plus a local businesman with links to sport. that could be slattery and by some coincidence is good mates with hoddle. the link with an ex town player with vast managerial experience may be fittons idea on his preferred manager.

I think the link with sport was a tenuous link to Andrew Black being in connected with a sports gambling company IMO.

I also dont think that Slattery is worth "several hundred million" as Fitton stated in his iunterview.
