Mate
I'm your part of the world for 5 days from Dec 10 before going to Khao Lak to get married.
Staying in the Bel Air Princess on Sukhumvit Road - can you recommend any decent restaurants for the evenings, I've done all the Khao San Road thing in the past and looking for something more authentic this time.
Cheers!

It's difficult to single out any Thai restaurants really, although there are a few very good Thai restaurant's in the Pat-Pong area which is easy to get to from sukhumvit if you use the sky-train. Aside's from that the only restaurants that I go to if I am looking for good Thai food are out in the sticks, (Similar to going to a country pub in England for English grub), for Thai food though I usually just settle for the 20baht a meal side stalls. The general idea is to look for where the locals eat as opposed to the tourist traps.
Although in though saying that, there is a very large seafood restaurant on Soi Ratchada, opposite the quite large hollywood night-club, which offers very reasonable prices on lobster. It's not exactly a classy joint but the food is top notch and has a good atmosphere, what's more is that despite the lack of traditionally dressed waitresses it still serves authentic Thai food, as it really caters for the thai pallette.
Sorry I can't be much more help than that cos I usually eat Western food, in which case I would definately recommend the British/Irish pubs, such as The Londoner, The Dubliner and the Hunstman (Underneath the landmark hotel), all of which are on Sukhumvit road. (Although they also do pretty good Thai Menu's as well). The londoner also does a top notch, all you can eat carvery on Sundays.
Hope this helps.
P.S. If you do go to a Thai restaurant that cater's for Thais. be sure to ask for no fat, and DEFINATELY ess chilli.
Hope the wedding goe's well Bro.
