Chris, not having a go mate, but given your estimate on numbers on the other thread and on this one, did you look at either protest in total? There was a lot more than 40 there, more like double that. Which considering we were walking through sleet and freezing rain, shortly after a massive load of hail which had everyone running for cover was a pretty decent turnout.

[EDIT] And there were three photographers - one Adver, one WDP and one I didn't catch up with so don't know where he was from, probably agency stringing for nationals.

Looked a lot less than the Cheltenham game protests after the game today and that was reported as being 150 on the BBC website. The majority of people at the start were FGR fans trying to get away from the ground.

As for the march I was pretty near the front and didn't look back once things had got moving, so you may well be right.

I was basing it on taking a look from both front (ie near athletics track) and back (towards CGH) once the people moving through had largely gone. There was a good depth (ie back towards CGH) and certainly a lot more than after Nam. Guy from the Adver reckoned about 400 as well and they usually underestimate.

How sad has this got!! A funeral march, i'll be laughing at you when you walk by. Pathetic.

Exactly, i know what you mean it's sad our club may die. I'm glad you find the Diamandis mask funny, hopefully others will too.

Seriously, Mr imaginatively titled "my-velocity", don't be a complete twat.  :|

 Coming from the one with Barry Scott as his screen name. And that funeral march was pathetic, not needed at all.

Oh do fuck off what exactly are you doing to try and save the club then. There seems to be alot of people who belittle our efforts but I don't see you doing anything to help?

Well, whatever, I'm not going to argue about it. We got our point across and showed a bit of support for Fitton so we did all we could really.

Yep. And I forgot to say cheers for turning out and lending your support yourself despite the freezing conditions - I think I can feel my left foot again now, right one still defrosting

How would we have been better off without it? Once you give me a decent answer to that question I will accept your point.

It's sunday morning, & I'm just thawing/ drying out now.
It;s in the lap of the gods now, but those of us who DID, do something (And the Adver figures are probably more acurate), at least know we did our best. If the club goes under I personally will blame people like My Velocity & Adder, for the demise of the club. Their aquiesense will have allowed Diamndis & co to get away with it.

Personally, I won't blame anyone other than those who took the club down and those who helped them. Divisive spats among fans about the effectiveness of tactics etc aren't helpful but it won't be that that kills the club, it will be the ongoing failures in management off the field and (in some instances) individual greed.

One good thing I nothiced about it was people actually seemed to be reading the leaflets distributed, where has previously they end up as confetti/paper airplanes.  So gimmicky or not, at least people took note.

The other thing I noticed was that some of the people around me are very dismissive of protests (and the supporters Trust). However they were alll of the opinion that the Wills should hurry up and sell. This suprised me somewhat as I had always assumed they didn't have an opinion on anything other than on the pitch.
