Mourinho ready to talk to England

Mourinho has been out of work since leaving Chelsea in September
Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has expressed a cautious interest in taking the vacant England manager's job.
Mourinho, who left Chelsea in September, said he would be happy to talk to the Football Association.

"You will have to speak to the FA to see if they are interested in offering me the job," he told The Sun newspaper.

"I cannot say what I think until they say they are interested. Tell the FA to come and get me. We will have to wait and see, but I rule nothing out."

Mourinho would be a popular choice to replace Steve McClaren at the helm with England because of his hugely impressive record with Chelsea and Porto.

He won two Portuguese championships, the Uefa Cup and the Champions League with Porto, before leaving to win two Premier League titles, two League Cups and the FA Cup with the Blues.

The 44-year-old had been tipped to stay in club management, having previously insisted that he would only be interested in coaching his native Portugal at international level.

You do realise that he'd play a defensive minded 451/433 formation, in exactly the same way, and probably with the same personnel that SM did against Croatia and you all slagged him off for?

It's shocking that we can't produce a manager of high enough quality within the English football set up, that said though if we have to have a foreigner then you can't get much better than Jose.
It'll never be dull thats for sure.........

He's not changed his mind, he never said he wasn't interested.

So if he plays the same formation then he can't possible be any better? If a manager plays 4-4-2 is it impossible for him to do any better than any other manager playing 4-4-2? I think the loss to Croatia had less to do with formation and more to do with picking a goalkeeper with no experience in a game anywhere near this big, having never played a competitive game for England before. Unsurprisingly he was clearly very nervous and put in one of the most inept performances in England's history.

McClaren has a very average management record, only achievements being winning the league cup and losing the uefa cup, Mourinho on the other hand has been the most successful manager in the world over the last few years. He would be by far the best choice for the job even if he costs £10 million a year.

Mclaren was dull and boring. At least Mourinho will be entertaining.
