He's 17 and massive, with a decent enough game. Chances are a decent defensive coach (Blackley) could turn him into a fair player.

I know that. I was suggesting that he would probably have been a good defender had the previous management team been around, and no doubt Everton have a decent defensive coach who could do the same.

For a 17 year old he looked ok but way out of his depth in the first team IMO, needs a few more years yet before he can even think about breaking into the first team now Sturrock has gone, as Sturrock seemed to rate him higher than Blackburn who as we all know is an England C Team international.
