I've never warmed to Sturock as a person, but thought he was doing an OK job. Not spectacular, but very competent. I don't even blame him for leaving our unprofessionally-run shambles of a club. I just wish all these bloody managers would keep their mouths shut instead of saying one thing and doing another! That's why I think he's a twat, and why I think Dennis Wise is a twat. Just don't make promises you don't intend to keep, FFS! As for a replacement, I'd really like to see Nijholt here. A direct individual with reall grit and determination - and from his comments in the Adver every 5 seconds it really sounds like at least he really WANTS to come and have a go - something I'd look for in a manager any day of the week. But we'll probably end up with Jimmy Quinn and Paul Bodin on a job share basis. What a dream team!

I suspose, but Orient have Arsenal, West Ham, Tottenham, Charlton and Millwall on their doorstep. Their never going to get 10,000 crowds. Boo fucking hoo for them, what does that matter? If anything you've just validated my point.

QPR still get over 10,000 every week and they are only done the road from Chelsea and Fulham.

We're not an attractive job prospect are we.
Ideal candidate must be prepared to lie to the fans, not want to spend any money on new players and won't mind losing their job in 2 weeks time when we're shut down.

But... I dont think he will come anyway.

LOOK! For the last time! No-one currently in a managment post ANYWHERE is going to come to Swindon until:
*the takeover is complete *the financial situation is sorted out *there's been at least a few months of stability
Would you leave your job to take one at a company that's been staggering from one financial crisis to another for a decade and is now on the brink of insolvency, struggling to pay its wage bill?
The only people who would be remotely interested in taking on Swindon at the moment are those out of work and desperate.
:king: it is then.

Agreed Lumps, not many people will want to come here apart from desperate people like King, Iffy, Woan etc.

Leyton Orient have zero debt, have self financed the development of their ground, have let Lingy build up his own team and back room system etc, have given him absolute support and backing and are (oddly) prime candidates to benefit from 20,000-25,000 seater stadium off the back of the Olympic bid. Lingy has now spent 11 years with them, longer than with us. I'd be amazed if he took it on at the current time.
Agree with lumps, given our public exposure recently, right this minutes we will be looking in the unemployed basket.
