If Mr Fitton and co do takeover our beloved STFC then how would this affect the political views of the Trust?

Not counting chickens, but I assume if Fitton takes over then the Trust would return to the more "light hearted", fund raising (as per Red Army fund) activities.

I also assume Mike D and Bob H would be welcome to stand in any future Trust Board elections, perhaps for comedy purposes.

Seems so long ago since Proctor signed, after his wages were paid by TrustSTFC.  It was Proctor wasn't it?

t'was proctor indeed. i remember he scored on his debut, it was a cold night so i stayed at home to play world of warcraft  Oops

funnily enough the same thoughts crossed my mind earlier today jan, whilst it's never been in the trust's remit to specifically do fundraising - i think the supporter's club do a fantastic job of that as it is - then it would be nice to see the trust welcome fitton cautiously, albeit with open arms in the hope it could lead to a proper dialogue between all supporters organisations, the board and the fans as a whole.

in that sort of go-between role, not neccesarily with a fan on the board, is where i see the trust acting. of course the trust membership would need to increase significantly though...

Yes I went.

IIRC, it was one of the members present who raised the point that if everything goes through as we hope then we may lose a lot of members due to the fact that most signed up during the big recruitment drive at the end of 2006. A lot of renewals are due at the moment and people might not renew because they might've only joined the Trust as their way of trying to do something about the situation which was present at the club at the time.

It was suggested the Trust do something to raise it's profile again should things die down a little.

Ah right I see.

I suppose it's a suck it and see at this stage, no point making decisions whilst nothing has been finalised.

The Trust is and always has been first and foremost about good governance. Anyone who wants to see how we judge this or any board really only has to look at the stuff we set out in the Fans Consortium Manifesto - that's effectively a distillation of how we think  a well-run club should look, and it's how we'd judge any regime. Hence the current regime fall so far short of virtually every aspect of that, they're not even in the same discussion, whereas what we've heard from Mr Fitton so far has been very much in tune with the thinking behind that.

We'd all love to get back to a more "constructive engagement" style of operation and hopefully a new regime will give us the opportunity to do that.

It's ok, I'm sure the (nearly) new owners will find something to blame you for.
