So 20,000 people will have a say!

What a farce.

The 20,000 MyFootballClub members have each paid £35 to provide a £700,000 takeover pot and they will all own an equal share in the club.

Members will have a vote on transfers as well as player selection and all major decisions.

As shareholders, presumably they are entitled to dividends and to sell their share at some point in the future.  An unexpected upside could well be the gimmick of the idea actually means their share is worth much more than the £35 they paid for it - sponsorship etc.  Plus, one or two people would have made some decent cash off of the Admin of the set-up.

they have to pay in each year. i don't think they own official shares each , just the right to vote in various things. i imagine the website and its owners will remain the official shareholder.

It's such a confused concept - a backlash against the businessmen who treat football as a plaything and vehicle for their own profit that then takes over a club and interferes with team selection.

Fine, take over a club - but let the people who know what they're doing get on with it.

It's confused me - it sounds like FM2008 but with real people which can't be right.  The sheer logistics of voting and proposing etc sounds a nightmare.
