Anyone an oracle on this?

I want to take my car out with me for the whole season but Admiral who I'm insured with only allow up to 90 days, I've tried Liverpool Victoria as they allow 180 days but the quote was stupid.

I've looked on a seasonairres forum but the threads on this subject are all out of date really.

Anyone able to help?  Cheers.

The French bloke that I had a crash with a few years was with the French part of AXA. You could look into changing to a more European insurance company that covers more than one country.

Maybe?

Contact the AA, they will be able to advise you.  Tell them you are looking for insurance!

As sussex said can you not insure via a british insurer for the short term then change over to a european based insurer once you're there?

As an insurance man (claims side) I would sugget the following:

1. Phone your local indepent insuarnce broker, they wil give you advice and have access to a range of insusers who deal with nich markets so will be better postioned to place the risk.

2. insure the vehicle for ninty day. then leave your vehicle unisures for a week then phone your insuser and say you are off agiain for another 90 days keep this up the entrie time you are aboard.

Things to bear in mind. Although your insuser will say you are covered this may only mean the very basic level of car ie TP only your vehicke maynot be covered for theft. I would check your policy wording very cafefully.

The best thing to do is phone your local broker.  try this lot in mk A-Plan 01908271771. I have helped train some of their managers in claim matters and they are all pretty switched on.
