Nevermind is absolutely awesome if you're about 15. After that you should probably grow out of it. I've not grown out of it. And neither's Bullzeye by the looks of it. In Utero is Nirvana's best album though. |

I've only listened to This Station is Non-Operational by At the Drive In, and i like it. I shall endeavour to listen to this other supposed masterpiece.
I think White Blood Cells is pretty ace too. And Stereophonics first album (nothing since)

Mex cheated and had about 10 so I'm not going to pick just one either.
There isn't one album I could pick. I'd take most of Mex's list and a few others mentioned by others, but ones that haven't come up are:
Ramones - Rocket to Russia
James Brown - Live at the Apollo
David Bowie (fuck me no ones mentioned Bowie in 9 pages of posts) - The Rise and Fall of Ziggy............
Iggy and the Stooges - Raw Power
Marvin Gaye - What's going on?
The Clash - The Clash (much as I love London Calling and Sandanista they're both from that period when the band had got carried away with themselves and lost the ability to edit. They would both have made fantastic single albums if they'd ditched some of the crap)
Dexy's Midnight Runners - Searching for the Young Soul Rebels
The Jam - Snap (OK I know it's a greatest hits album but The Jam were always a bit of a singles band and I can't think of a studio album that does them justice).
Similarly my favourite r e g g a e album is a compliation so I'm including it and you can all stuff your petty rules. "Strictly for Rockers" from Island Records Reggae Greats series: Augustus Pablo - King Tubby Meets The Rockers Uptown; Bunny Wailer - Battering Down Sentence; Culture - Two Sevens Clash, cracking!

Zuma by Neil Young.
Still going 40 years later - produced some real crap in the 80's but his 70s solo stuff is amazing and he's bang on the money again from 90's onwards.

Finally someone mentions Nevermind. Only took you 5 pages  I was going to suggest it when the thread first started, but thought I'd get shot down in a blaze of flames. But hey, it's my greatest album of all time. Yeah same as. It really is a great album (yes i know people will shoot me down for saying it) but hey i love music so you can all feck off  Listening to a greatest hits thingy of theirs at the moment. 'About a girl' has just started, 13 more to go.. Good man. Some classics on there  |
