Personally I think that protests are like military might. The threat puts the willies up people, but its use results in people seeing weaknesses!

But the attitude of most of the fans is "oh let's just go home im sure the Club will be ok, the board said so the other day"

This Town don't deserve a Football Team.

if there's no board members there, what's the point in being vocal and loud? at the end of the day it's the numbers that count (unless your name is sandy gray)

two key factors which led to the events after cheltenham were missing today; spontaneity and a trigger. nothing spontaneous about today and the trigger was less of a short sharp shock.

i think the result contributed to the mood afterwards, it's a shame that we can't just fucking celebrate a win :?

whatever the reasons are.the fact is that protest would have gone relatively un-noticed.when surely the aim of it is to make an impact?

The fact is that the Cheltenham game had a mass protest because of a couple of things:-

a) It was the same day everything was released in the media regarding the state of the Club.

b) We lost and played crap which helped some fans make their decision to protest.

c) everyone was in the north stand already.

To be fair lads, dont beat yourselves up about it too much. I think a line in the sand has been drawn because of the Cheltenham game. They will have to tread more carefully in future.

It was depressing yesterday because we should have all been in the pub or on the way home talking about what a great win, and Barry Corr, fuckin brilliant. But we werent because this huge cloud hangs over the club because at the end of the day we are one false step from being liquidated.

Take it easy on yourselves. Do the simplest things that cause the maximum impact. At the end of the day we are not Burmese monks, we are football fans!

I have to say I agree with Spud about the naivety of our fans. There are many clubs (of a simmilar size to ourselves) who would not have let this happen. But here we are.

To be honest (and this observation is only possible with hindsight) I think planned protests are doomed from the outset.  It's just too contrived.

Successful protests are spontaneous.  They don't announce themselves days before they are due to happen.  The Macari reinstatement and McMahon protests were pre-internet era, and happened because everyone was ****ing livid.

Frustrating as it is, when Sturrock comes out in support of the board in the press - it's going to placate enough people for a spontaneous protest to be a non starter.  If they say 'we've got another investor lined up' - that also is going to prevent a large scale spontaneous protest.  And for what it's worth, an injury time winner against the league leaders is hardly going to fire people up for a bit of protesting behind the Arkells Stand five minutes later either.

You're only going to get a powerful protest when something definitive happens.  A winding up order.  An admission that the latest 'investor' has also pulled out and that there is no Plan B.  And, of course, by then it will all probably be too late.

Depressing.  I'll be taking a break for a while, I think.

These protests are pointless, you wanted answers and you got them in the adver. I say wait until November 16th and if the deal isn't done then protest all you want, we need to be focusing on supporting the club not attacking it. We got a good result yesterday, was a massive result in fact. And we got a game in hand on some of the teams above us which is always a good position to be in.

Dachauer is right, these protests will achieve nothing.

I disagree. The protests have rattled them enough to wheel out Sturrock, put some crappy interviews in the Adver, which give us no more answers than a year ago.

We've played the waiting game long enough I'm afraid.

As for supporting the team, I'm pretty sure everyone protesting yesterday cheered the team on. I know I certainly did.
