To all those people who think like this...

Quote
I speak as a supporter of sixty years
I have seen the highs and the lows watching Swindon. But I believe that if we are now patient, financially the club will turn the corner. We can argue till the cows come home about who we want to run the club. All I know is that Sir Seaton Wills has constantly put his hand in his pocket to bale out the club.Even now he is paying the wages. All I will say if there are any supporters out there who want to buy the club put up or keep quiet.
Come on lets get behind the team call off the demonstrations at this stage they make little sense

(from a comment on the adver site)

Please please please...can you not see that if the current carry on we will not have a club to support. We need to get our point accross and the protests are on because we need to save our beloved club.

How can we get through to people like this?

Perhaps hes unaware that the fans consortium actually put up and didn't keep quiet, only problem was that the board didn't want them to view the books for obvious reasons.

I'm not sure we will ever get through to people like this he is reading what he wants to read, its almost embarassing.  If he read every fine detail and see that Sir Seton wants every penny back then maybe he wouldn't so much find him a hero maybe more the guy who is helping destroy the club.

As long as there the minority it wont matter.  If we have strength in numbers protesting then people like this will be irrelevent.  My fear is a guy like this who is stuck in his ways would only realise just how crap Sir Seton has been if the club was to go under, there almost like lost causes.

I think the majority won't protest though. For mexample I only think there will be about 200 or so at the magic roundabout. Not saying its a bad thing but we just need to get to the people that think that everything is going to be ok.

You need to look at it a slightly different way thats 4 times as many people that were protesting last season so clearly peoples patience is wearing thin with the current regime.  I think you will find guys like this are in a very small minority as the vast percentage of Swindon's current supporters think the current board should go its just alot of them don't do anything about it.

"I know is that Sir Seaton Wills has constantly put his hand in his pocket to bale out the club"

...as, it would appear, in the form of loans that he charges interest on - thats hardly putting your hand in your pocket.  No one says Ocean Finance generously put their hands in their pocket to help out those in debt do they ?

Now, I appreciate that its a big risk lending to the club, and i don't really begrudge charging a fair rate of interest, but the man hasn't actually 'given' the club any money as far as i can see and beyond that i have no idea what it was spent on and by whom.

Sadly i think this will be the view of the vast majority of Town supporters Sad

Mad as it seems there are a hell of a lot of town followers out there who still willing to believe the Board and every bullshit statement they come out with  :wall:

Ive become more and more convinced that there are people who just wont complain. Even if we were liquidated. Even if Mike Diamandis was in the Adver a day after we had been liquidated laughing at how much money he had made out of us, they still wouldnt protest. They would still be saying 'well theres always Supermarine, dont upset anyone'.

Thats fair enough. But this is it now. Enough is enough for me. Sell up and get out.
