Right then, who's with me? I'm not backing off just because Sturrock said so.

March - Need confirmation from Alan (and clarification of what the police said about this) but this should still go ahead. Routes and times still to be confirmed as per Alan's post earlier today.

Magic roundabout idea - We should still run with this. A gathering of people in the centre with banners as planned. Probably not best to discuss times etc. here or we'll get grief from the OB. If people want to go ahead and disrupt traffic that's up to them, but I won't be.

Personally I would lay off the march idea unless you plan to talk with the police and organise it properly yourself, with marshals, safety briefings etc. They won't be best pleased by having one precipitated on them when they have only deployed enough coppers to cover the match on Saturday.

Keep it for another day.

I might be in the vicinity of the MR at 2pm though  Cool

i'll do the after match one.sturrocks wishes would have been followed then. and i think the magic roundabout one could get daft with people blocking cars and that.

i will be up for the march when its on though.i just dont think there will be enough numbers now for an impact this saturday

The OB's stance on the magic roundabout is that it is an offence to obstruct the flow of traffic, so no venturing onto the road surface, and if anyone takes residence on the inner island they will be moved along.

They were very worried about the spectacle causing accidents by people rubbernecking, and looking to see what was going on.

Also concerned about the impact on both emergency services based in the vicinity.

By all means congregate on the footpaths and verges, just not on the rb itself

Did they say anything about banners on the signs in the middle?

I've been thinking about this. It's probably on offence to cover then chevron signs so it wouldn't be wise to put banners over them - but we could get some garden canes and string the banners above the signs.

anything that will divert drivers awareness from the road or roundabout is a no no.

Surrounding the roundabout on the footpaths and verges carrying the banners is an option i suppose

So basically, Sturrock gets wheeled out to try and put people off protesting before and everyone just says "yeah ok we'll not bother making our feelings known because Sturrock aka Board using Luggy as front man say so"

Maybe peoples hearts aren't in it as much as they say they are and yet again are pandering to the want of the board.

I've got some spray paint to go on the sheets. Does anyone want to meet up tomorrow and make some banners? I might even buy some stencils if I remember.

I get what your saying Lady, but the problem is that if the march was to go ahead and a couple of dozen turned up, then the board (And the media) would shrug it off as a few 'militants' and not representative of the whole fanbase.

It's not often I agree with Alan Wink but I do in this case.

Unless we get numbers, it could be detrimental.

If people make as many banners as possible, even if the MR protest doesn't go down to well, they can be used at any other future protest and also after the game. Let's fucking do this.
