We all know that, as fans, we disagree with each other all the time but the one thing that 99.99% of us do agree on is that Sturrock should be left alone to manage the team.

If the takeover by BEST is successful, we need to demonstrate to the new owners how much support Luggy has and how pissed off their paying customers would be if he was forced to leave because of meddling from other people.

Could the Trust organise a petition, to be signed before games? I'm sure they would get thousands of signatures. This could then be presented to Little if and when he took control.

Just an idea like...................................................

I don't even like the chap but he gets my 100% support as Manager of the club based on his record and pefrormance with us so far.  I don't see why BEST would give a damn what we though though because if it is their intention to remove him then it's part of a plan, in which case our opinion won't have been given much wieght anyway.  Tis a worrying state of affairs that we find ourselves having to blindly support the takeover just because we've been run into the ground.

Can I ask where the speculation is coming from that the new investors want to remove Luggy?

I have seen nothing anywhere to suggest this but then haven't read much over the weekend so apologies if I've missed something?

Surely the proof that Luggy is a good manager is there in recent results and wouldn't do them any favours removing him.

Well if BEST did take over and got rid of Sturrock that would be about the worst possible start for their regime ... fair enough if he was crap but you cant argue with his record can you!

I think the wording is probably slightly different to "removing him".  They would appear, from their public comments, to have a more European vision of the off field set-up.  Sturrock made clear mention to having to have a big chat with them if they did takeover to clarify his position - Almeida and Arrieta being brought in by BEST not him was mentioned in that interview.

Basically, if they plan to get their return by bringing a few players through by using Agents like they've stated, then they need them to play to get a sell on.  It's sort of how a club in Belgium was run, a company loaning the club money to buy the players they targetted, using the club as a shop window and then keeping the majority of any transfer fees.  The difference there was Belgium was used to help bring in non EU players from Africa.  There have been enough details given to suggest this is a posiibility, be we just don't know, and neither does Sturrock right now.  It could be wide of the mark and they'll happily let us carry on as normal (although if we are over budget again and leaking money fast they have to have something planned).

Cheers Rob, was thinking I'd missed some big news for a second there.

Luggy seems to have the team pretty united at the moment, great team spirit, demonstrated even more so by them not walking out when they hadn't been paid.

Has he not got a clause that only him can pick the team anyway should he stay?

If he does, and it is breached on purpose by BEST then I'd imagine 'all' that would happen is that Luggy would take legal action to be compensated for the remainder of his contrct, i.e. having the clause is no guarentee of him staying.

I know - there are lots of if's buts and maybes.....

If he still has the right to pick the team and choose the tactics then he will stay i reckon. As long as they don't interfere in the coaching and team selection side of things i don't think Sturrock will mind. There is the issue of players. But if Best Holdings wanted their own players in then why would they have given money to Sturrock to buy Paynter and JPM?

Well surely we didn't have enough to pay for them on our own. It was around the time when the takeover was first made public (just after Jim Little joined) so i'd imagine they provided the funds. As for it being a debt, well it's probably already paid isn't it? At least i hope.
