People hate him cos he left to play at a higher level, simple.  If he had stayed we wouldnt of had smith.

true.  its clear smith and brez are both better than him so him leaving wasnt such a bad thing with hindsight.

I was always a big supporters of Evans....thought he was a good keeper.

You generally dont get on the books at Chelsea for no reason, then we got Phil Smith from non-league who appears to be better in every department.......very weird really.

I felt his game got worse when he was here, I guess not having a goal keeping coach didnt help....

but, he got worse here.

Wouldnt want him back over Smith or Brez though....

yeah, part-time and i think that was only matchdays :?

evans was a decent keeper but his stalling over contract was daft.

He couldn't kick, he couldn't command his box, he wasn't great at coming for crosses the list is endless.  He was a very good shot stopper but that was it nothing else to his game.  The best way to sum it up is he thinks he's better than he is.......

So you didnt think he was very good. fair enough -you are entitled to you opinion. But that still dosnt answer why you hate him

People always slate him for being cocky etc but in fact he was a model proffessional.  He would go out and drink a glass of red wine and then water and drive.  He is actually a genuine nice guy

I for one hope he climbs the league again

I'm sure he's lovely, it doesn't change the fact he was a self-loving cunt who was shit.

I was never a fan of his to be honest. I won't say i hate him as thats a bit strong - how can you hate someone that you don't know personally?
He's probably a genuine, nice guy.
However, i didn't rate him much as a goalkeeper and still don't.
