No longer full members of the FA?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Saw a copy of the Wiltshire FA meeting minutes from the 6th September and was bit surprised to see the following entry.

"Section 02/08 - Correspondence.
(r.)Swindon Town Administrators Hacker Young have informed the County FA of the continuing problems of carrying out their obligations to creditors. It is noted that the club will have a new Chairman shortly who it is hoped will clear the clubs debts. It is also noted that the club has had its Football Association Membership withdrawn along with Leeds united who have committed similar offences."

Don't think this actually means a lot more than losing voting rights and not getting any FA cup final tickets but a little bit surprised that nothing has been said about this by the club or in the press if its true.
Better not be a Town v Leeds cup final otherwise Wembley could be a bit empty!

Anyone confirm?

May explain why we voted in favour with Leeds recently (presumably before we lost our membership) and looks like the first splatters of an almighty vindaloo shit could be hitting the fan.

I saw this...not certain what to make of it.  may be just a technicality, might be something more serious.

Surely this is serious! Not sure why, but come on. To not be full members of something that we've been members of longer then most clubs???

If its minuted at a Wiltshire FA meeting I would assume it is true as its very unlikely they would speculate or be wrong.

OK, rather than speculating etc I rang the FA this morning to ask about this and this is nothing new. Basically, suspension from full membership is automatic on entering a CVA. So, yes we are suspended from full membership but it's nothing to do with the failure to meet the deadline payment, it's due to being in a CVA at all and it's not a recent thing, we've been suspended for the past 5 years since entering the CVA. The guy I spoke to said it's an automatic low-level procedural thing and certainly nothing to get too worried about in terms of it having a major impact on the club's status.

The impact of it in terms of sanctions is on off-field rather than on-field matters (as those of us who've been watching the team crash out in the early rounds of the FA Cup for the past 5 years will confirm), and is mainly loss of voting rights at general meetings of the Association and stuff like not automatically getting tickets for the Cup Final etc.

So, basically, nothing new and nothing to panic about.

It's bollocks - we just rang the FA. Apparently it's been suspended for the past five years and will be so until we come out of the CVA.
