Blackburn was fucking awful in my opinion and everything sturrock said about how he is still learning was evident. His errors against a better team on saturday would have left us 3-1 down at half time he just is not good enough at the moment . No doubt he has potential just no where near ready yet.

He should stop practicing buddism and practice defending instead

I agree. Cant fault his effort, but he was a bit all over the place and tended to follow the ball into areas that would leve him out of position.  I'd play vincent centre back saturday.

Non league is a huge step up to league one and he definitely needs more work.  Hopefully with the likes of Hasney/Adie he will learn a lot from them and improve.

based on saturdays evidence we are going to miss Aljofree big time, the defence was a real mess at times.

Maybe this was the reason for Phil Smiths confidence loss on Saturday?

To be fair Blackburn is more of a right back - or right hand centre back in a back 3 when he was at Morecambe .. did ok but not commanding enough

I wasn't at all impressed with him. Having said that Aljofree wasn't convincing on his debut and he is a very good defender.
Blackburn obviously needs game, he may be useful as a squad player, perhaps not a first team regular though

after seeing their goal again, i'd hold him responsible for it - he got sucked into the ball along along with ifil as the other man strolled through the space left wide open by blackburn and tucked it away.

i think he's got potential and will improve though, he's been playing in the non-league for years!

having seen the goal, both he and ifil were pressing a man each as they should have.if they hadn't then either would have had space on the edge of the box and you cant just let that happen.the goal scorer broke through so whoever didn't track his run would be most to blame imo.

Postitionally he was bad and his heading lacked power or direction. He had a really bad game against a really bad team. He's got a lot of development. I wouldn't go too hard on him though as the one thing he didn't do was hide - unlike Gurney, Heywood and O Hanlon used to.
We got 3 points and learned that Blackburn is not the immediate answer. I'd move Vincent to the centre rather than get a loan player. Vincent / Ifill were awesome last season together. Vincent will organise the defence well.

In his defence, I think that all the defence was exposed first half because our midfield was overwhelmed. Therefore all the defence looked poor and uneasy. JPM kept drifting infield leaving Cominges exposed a lot. Peacock was ineffective. Zaboob was poor. Give the guy a fair chance! His first game in the League for years, nerves, poor midfield, inexperience, and we did win 4-1!
Sometimes some of us want not only blood, but instant blood, imho.

Except it was JP who was marking Holland at the time!

Defensively we were shakey but it didn't matter because he scored 3 more goals than them.

I much preferred it to the lacklustre 1-1 draw I expected the game to become.

I think it would certainly have been a different story if their first teamers were all fit though.
