His main criticism of Arrieta is that he drops too deep, so surely he gets just as annoyed by Mr Peacock?

Blair and Peacock both work their bollocks off but that didn't get us any goals yesterday, look at the mighty Parkin....he used to do bugger all most of the time yet he would get you a goal or two.

I think Peacock's hard work is very different to Sturrock's hard work.  Peacock would work well with an out and out striker playing along side him.  Sturrock would be just as insignificant with anyone playing alongside him I'm afraid.  He may run around a lot, but it's not really with any real result.  Having the two together is a recipe for a lack of goals, that's for sure.

Peacock will probably slot back into midfield now anyway, or be given a nice comfy spot on the bench.

"Peacock today was doing more work on the edge of our own box than up front (before the substitutions), he's not on the pitch to do that, he's on the pitch to score goals and yet because he does the donkey work the fans seem to love the bloke."

Sorry not true. Yes he's a striker so needs to score goals but he's also on the pitch as part of a TEAM. If this means defending then thats a big part of it. If you start with that argument Robbo and Sofe are wingers whose job is to cross the ball so presumably they don't need to track back and help the full backs then?

But the point is PS has often said our strikers aren't in the box enough to get on the end of crosses so by that token Peacock is in totally the wrong place if he's defending his own 18 yard box...

But if the midfield were doing their job properly Peacock wouldnt have to be in the edge of his own 18 yard box.

I see your point, but he isnt out of position because he wants to, because he's lazy or because he doesnt have a clue. Its because he is there doing someone elses job for them.
