If i was to send a shirt to the club and ask if it could be signed by the squad, and pay for P&P for it to come back to me, do you think the club would do it or tell me to fuck off? I would have to make up some charity story then.

Great then you can post a thread on here saying

"signed Swindon shirt for sale".

Like Arriba says just ask the players to sign it yourself.

In that case explain it in a letter that that's what your doing, although I still think it'd be nicer if you got the players to sign it as you could ask them to personalise their message rather than just a squiggle you can't read.

Or if you do send it in, tell them you'll make a nice little donation to that charity appeal they're currently doing as a way of thanks.

just drop it off at reception and they will get the shirt signed for you, no need for a big long story as to why you want it. They will just do it.

My best mate when I was 21 was sadly taken very ill with brain damage just before my birthday, he made a recovery and wrote to the club explaining he had not done anything for my 21st, they arranged a signed shirt for free and also gave me tickets to Wigan away and did a tour and met every player in the dressing room.

Was a lovely touch.  This sort of thing should be highlighted at times when the club always get shit written about them
