This sort of speculation makes me sick.

We're talking about a missing possibly dead child and it seems to me that people are so desperaste to blame someone they will blame anyone. The Mcanns have been courting publicity in an attempt to keep the storey in the headlines, these things are sadly forgotton about all to soon and if it takes making a Blog, meeting the Pope  or whatever to keep it "current" then they have done the right thing. They made a stupid decision in leaving the chidren but people do stupid things all the time, parenting isnt an exact science.

Personaly I think people want them to have done it,because they are middle class professional people , because they are religous and because we all want someone to blame.I think theres a sort of reverse snobbery in play here.

The whole thing makes me very sad,the Police evidence so far seems vague at best and the Portugese Police havent exactly seemed the best .Until something is PROVEN I see two parents who have lost a child and are desperate to find her not murderers trying to cover their tracks and I still hope shes found.

I would like to register my interest in this subject. I really don't know what the hell to say about it. I've been reading it with interest though.

The whole story is mind boggling on many levels :?

That's all I can say at this time.

OK, I will say one thing. I will be amazed if she is found alive. Even if she is, I dread to think what irreperable phsycological damage will have been done. The whole thing is beyond any normal person's worst nightmares.

They were said to be checking their kids every 10 minutes, no one else... there was a childcare service on offer which they didn't deem necessary.

Proves my point.

I'm talking about it and I don't know all the facts Cheesy

Fuck it, let's just agree that everyone on here who has kids are the best parents in the world who would never make a mistake.....

Apart from me.

I don't think apart from you 'cause I'm absolutely certain you never buggered off down the pub leaiving your 2 year old in an unlocked house even once. Because it's not something reasonable people do.

It's the thing about the story that always seemed strange. These were mature, educated, professional people, not a pair of clueless, feckless kids. I couldn't understand how they'd do such a thing.

And I have to say that, like a lot of other people, I've watched the media coverage of this whole thing thinking if this was the kid of a 17 year old single parent abducted from her council flat in Walcot whilst she was drinking cider in the Bulldog would the press coverage be quite so sympathetic.
100% spot on

Indeed... Exactly what i was trying to say in the first place, just im not very good explaining myself!

100% agree!

there's a message in this thread somewhere from someone slating the mccans for daring to invest in having a press officer... what do you expect them to do, deal with the world's press on their own?!

chris morris, if he ever stops doing the god awful "IT crowd", would have an absolute field day with this reaction.

Yeovil has pretty much summed up what any sane and rational person will be thinking. Unfortunately this forum mostly consists of people with brains similar to an amoeba with learning difficulties.

Neither do most of the people on here.

Good.

It wasn't supposed to be funny. I'm saving all my best jokes for a special occasion.

Correct Yeovil.  I just hope the girl, if found dead was not put through hell first as no child in the world deserves that.  I was shocked at how many parents sat in the hotel Ive just used while there children went off for bed themselves etc or didnt check on them.

The McCanns did not move the body after 25 days as her body wouldnt be able to be moved without being seen.  A corpse would have left a mark that wopuld have been traced.  Its not here 100% certain

I'm delighted to see that a few sane views have been aired on this page of the thread. The previous 5 have mainly been filled up with the usual brainless Daily Mail crap. Poor old Herthab fighting the cause on his own!

My views fall into line with Yeovils, Herthabs and Spaceys.

I don't need to say anything else, yet.

I'm with OST. I don't really have an opinion, but would be extremely surprised if they find her alive.
