there's a horrible smell of 3rd person deja vu about all of this. So you're saying we've all been in this situation?

it was a little more complicated than OFs situation, and didn't end happily on the relationship front.

it was a little more complicated than OFs situation, and didn't end happily on the relationship front. Maybe you should have asked for advice from the TEF....clearly the way forward. Back in the day....I advocated an Ask Yeovil agony forum.....sadly it never got up and running.

I thought you were looking for a journo type job OF, or had been offered one?
Estate agents burn out so quick, I'd hang around in Naaaarwhich and wait for something better. i think the journo bloke is a bit disorganised, doesn't seem like a very good website. should i take a decent job in london or take a year off so i can stay with the bird in norwich? i wouldn't be able to get as good a job there, but could do more reffing and some voluntary work and work experience to boost the cv a bit and in the meantime hopefully figure out what i want to do long term.
i'm a little bit tetchy about the london job as its for a big estate agents who have a high staff turnover with many dropping out after only four months, dont want to sacrifice my relationship and for it to turn out to be a shit job which i quit after a quarter of a year. the hours are insane too, its 6 days a week as you have to do sundays for a bit. Woah woah woah for a minute here. You used the term decent job, so therefore I assume it's a good option for you personally? decent as in £22k starting salary and a free mini.

decent as in £22k starting salary and a free mini. No, no, no... A company car will cane your wages with tax, might as well earn 18k for what you'll take home, plus how often would you get to use the car in London? And when they say "free", if you get to use it for personal use and they pay the fuel then that's even more tax you pay. Take it from personal experience, I left a 30K+ a year job with a car for a job with the same salary and no car and was £300 a month better off.

decent as in £22k starting salary and a free mini. Working 6 days a week in London for 22k?! That is not decent by a long shot, especially as it's not the career path you seem to want to take. Personally, I'd stay in Norwich and take the next year to take drugs, get pissed and figure out what you really want to do.

okay looks like i'm leaning towards norwich, have a room viewing on wednesday there. will take a load of cv's along to hand in to shops. decent as in £22k starting salary and a free mini. Your personal tax allowance is affected if you have a company car.
Even if it's fully expensed, you paye through the nose (See what I did there?)

being in a shit job with no money to go out and not wanting to get up in the mornings isn't a great way to be happy either.
