Swindon’s Music scene given a bigger stage – 8-9 September
This September the Swindon Music scene are once again on stage to perform, and this time it will be one of the biggest festivals in the area, the Sugarhill Festival at Liddington Warren Farm.
After the success of the Swindon Shuffle, 40 bands playing over 4 days, across 6 venues from the 19-22 July, the organisers of the Sugarhill Festival have provided the Swindon Shuffle the opportunity to programme a local music stage, to be called the Shuffle stage at this year’s weekend of summer music.
“The Swindon Shuffle raised the profile of Swindon Music. Working with the people behind it to have a Shuffle stage that will be all about showcasing local music, giving local bands the opportunity to play on a bigger stage and to a bigger audience, was a very easy decision for us and one that helps to make Sugarhill even better”, said Sugarhill organiser Dennis Ford.
Over the two days of the Sugarhill Festival you can see bands such as: Dr and the Medics, The Beat, Neville Staple formally of The Specials, DreadZone Mad Professor Nashville Teens, The King Earl Boogie Band, RDF (military Surplus), Talking Strawberries, Skaville UK, The Talks, The Amolalies, Pablo, Anything Goes, Grey Cat Blues, Dub the Earth, Premium Bananas, Spank the Monkey, The Velvet Hearts, The Jason Manners Band, The Rollin Stoned, Tropical Heatwave, Maxfield, and Buddhist Punkz featuring Rapport Mc Sirreal, Louis
Accompanying these bands on the Swindon Shuffle stage will be acts such as the Knott, Charlie Bath, Arc, the Alfonz, legendary Jurgen and the Wolfs, Playgroup, the entertaining Dr Joel, Black Eye Dog, Seven Years on and Captain Mandate. With 28 bands playing in total, this again is Swindon’s music scene showcased.
“Organising the shuffle proved that Swindon bands are fantastic, and to be able to play on a bigger stage at a festival is what many of these bands should be doing every year. We are simply helping them turn that in to a reality”. Commented Paul Jellings, organiser of the Swindon Shuffle Stage.
Ticket prices for the weekend are between £20 - £40, which includes free camping and parking. Booking can be done online at
