Saturday's League One clash with play-off rivals Swindon Town is in severe doubt after Pools' players decided to go on strike over Sunday training.
Working on a Sunday morning has become part and parcel of life at The Vic under Neale Cooper and Martin Scott but the squad have seemingly had enough and have taken drastic action.
It is understood the final straw was when they were ordered in on Easter Sunday having already played on Good Friday and with a game scheduled on Bank Holiday Monday.
The players' PFA Representative Chris Westwood arrived at the ground early this morning to advise Senior Administrator Maureen Smith of the decision.
"This has been an ongoing issue," Smith admitted to the Official Website.
"The possibility of a strike has been mentioned in the past but we didn't think it would actually come to this.
"Now we have to sit down and talk this through and hopefully matters on the pitch can remain unaffected."
