It's very odd that one, thanks Reg for providing at least a guess as to why our very own Swiss Tony (BS Bob?) has had to make a statement.

"Buying STFC is a lot like making love to a beautiful women...,erm, I mean, ...  buying a house..."

As Wike Milks said at the Trust forum...

"WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS ALL ABOUT? I've bought and sold companies a zillion times and it ain't this complicated".

Or words to that effect.

If the “current board” were so worried about media speculation then why not talk to the media specifically instead of this frivolous document which appears to be more directed at the fans than the media?

it maybe directed at fan forums, after all there is alot of speculation going on here a lot of the time and the other boards

They ususally try and do that stuff, through either a guest appearance from Holt, in some disguise, Bowden has had a go or they use a pastie like SY or Gazza.....in some cases Maverick will do.

Well the statement is bizarre as things were calming down a bit. Like most people I expect the worst but hope for the best. Well one interpretation is that there is another " no rift". Interesting that the statement is made when our Chairman designate is in the US of A.
May be they've finally seen the Sandy Gray accounts.

I sounds like the same sort of deal that they done with Brady & Co and look how that turned out.

Why do they see fit to explain exatly how the deal is structured though, surely you make an agreement to sell after the potential owners have proved they have the funds to go forward..not wait until aftewr which us how it sounds to me.

Which directors are employed to do a job at the club I can only think of Starnes (Chief Exec) & Gray (Finance Director) and if Little is going to be chairman that I'd say he'd run the club  - that is Starnes out - and of course if they have done their home work they will know that Sandy forget's the VAT so that would be her out, I'd say there may be a clear out on the cards, and I wonder if Lambert will go as well being a dunwoody employee.

My take on this is that Due dilligence aint complete what with the "certain documentation within a defined timescale" comment.
This makes me think that they have either A) had a look at the books and have asked for some sort of clarification on Sandy Greys methods of basic arithmatic and have asked AVERY to check out the calculator for malfunction, or B) they aint entirely happy with what they have seen and are asking questions.
2 of the old lot will remain..1 a director and the other a co.secratary.
The casual director bit throws me a bit, but i would suggest that one of either Starnes or Bowden will stay. These can then be re-elected at the next AGM.

This then leads me to beleive the decision Cotton Eyed Jim and Fob Off BoB made to go public was to try and appease us busy bodies.
 :fu:
Ive a feeling this could all go belly up.....AGAIN.

Have the investors been made aware of how this business has been run for years? Surely having staff being paid by another company and VAT records being lost etc would make them ask serious questions

It's a radical new model of how to make a business sterile by financial castration.

Nice to know that the board treated both takeovers with an even hand. They wouldn't even talk to the fans consortium , saying that adequate proof of funding was required.  Letters from banks were not good enough. Where as this new lot have supposedly done the deal, but still not provided the same thing.

It now looks to be a double headed monster in the form of the Castro Bros....

Surely it must contravene some rules for agents to run a club....

Would a  Sturrock return to Wednesday satisfy all parties?

If we continue to allow our club to fucked around, we'll only have ourselves to blame for the consequences.....we need some answers to WTF is going on.

Sadly I think we've now lost the opportunity to protest effectively.  A large number of fans are happy with things as they are, & believe that all is rosy. (a mistake, I believe, but most even seem to think the CVA has been paid )Now if Sturrock walks that could all change.

I'd imagine that if you were an agent and you invested in a private equity fund which in turn purchased a club and you weren't a majority investor in said fund, you'd be ok.

The rules in the Uk are based on not letting agents have a way of directly influencing decisions at the club.  I'd guess if Castros had an investment, along with a range of other interested parties (they might not be thw only ones) then it would be dilluted enough once they buy into STFc that they could legally show no direct ability to be involved.  Of course, in reality they'll probably have some agreement in place in return that they investment fund utilises their company to some extent.

Sadly it that all sounds perfectly plausible.....Diamond Mike being an expert at how to run a football club, when theoretically not allowed to do so.

So, I'd say the next 3 days will tell us all we need to know.....if Sturrock gets his 2 or 3 prime beef targets then all well and good, I'd accept the sale of Brez to part fund them as good sense.   Blaming the non acquisition on the takeover stalling, would indicate Sturrock's departure and the management side being reorganised in a way to suit the Portugeezers......me  :run:
