i think we've had a terrific start but these 2 are the issue fpr me, just wondered what everyone else thinks?

obviously we need at least one new striker. i think sturrock is bound to drop out, especially when corr is fit- which is good because sturrock's shit.

the peacock one is a difficult one- i know alot of people on here like him but frankly our midfield looks sound, if easton carries on like that he'll be wicked, and pook's started very strongly indeed. i don't rate peacock as a striker very much, what i'm asking you all is this: if we sign a decent centre forward and corr is fit, does peacock get in your starting eleven?

I've thought about this. Peacock does look a little lost partnering Sturrock and I really think Easton is going to do wonders this season. Pook has impressed me so far too. It's a tough one to answer this early on.

peacock will start in midfield ahead of pook every day of the week simply because he is more of a threat bombing forward, and sturrock teams are known for having that midfielder getting with and beyond the strikers.

we aren't playing like that just yet because a lack of striker has forced sturrock's hand (hence the "we're currently playing last year's system" soundbite), but we will do.

I think Peacock should start in the middle ahead of Pook, but he isnt playing badly so would be hard to drop him.

Out of interest if Mohammed wasnt a panic buy then why is he not playing?

I think Mohammed is more of a "might turn out good" signing. A bit like previous efforts such as Darren Dykes(?), Jon Stevenson, Berty Braily (sp?) etc.. Of course none of them did turn out to be good, but there's a possibility that when he gets a game, probably in the prestigious Auto LDV Paint Trophey, or through injuries,  he'll be awesome. Like the Striker equivalent of Phil Smith.

Peacock looks twice the player he was last season, not in ability but size.
There is no way he will start in midfield ahead of Pook, what has the lad done wrong this season, I thought he was first class on Saturday.
Sturrock is just not good enough, not even good enough for the bench in my opinion.

no he doesn't warrant a start in cm imo.
the two in there yesterday deserve to keep their places.but peacock will get his chance in there eventually, then its up to him to keep his place

From what I've seen from Sturrock, which admittedly isn't that much. He seems like a striker who'd be ace partnering a natural goalscorer. Like Parkin when he wasn't in a wheelchair and playing for us. He seems to run the channels pretty well, and if there was someone good at getting in position for him to knock a ball into then he'd set them up a bag full.

To be honest that's a load of guess work blabble. It's called fB's guide to blagging football speak.

In the couple of games I've seen Sturrock play, imo he is only playing for Swindon because his dad is picking the team. My Grandmother has more pace than him. He is bloody useless.

blair does lack composure and physical threat but he did well leading up to the first goal and is a worthy squad member and sub.
throw him on with 20mins or so to go as he runs and runs.i think running at a tired defence would be the most effective way to use him

He had a good record coming on as a sub last year. Thats his best position for sure.

Peacock's touch and control hasn't been good so far from what I've seen.

I don't think he should be first team if he's playing CM at the moment. Hopefully he'll come good though.
