I set my alarm for about 1.30am when they were supposed to have been at their peak.  I saw 3 in half an hour. Still interesting to see though  Cheesy

Do you have much urban glow where you are Birdy? I saw 6, over about an hour or so....but where I live is terrible for background light....I can see into the CG from my bedroom though  Smiley

Yeah we have annoying street lights. I think they should be banned so I can look at the stars every night!!

There is a group, known as Dark Sky Movement, who are campaigning for more efficient street lighting etc, which doesn't cause excessive light pollution and is more energy efficient etc.

Maybe you should lobby your local council....

Did you look in the right direction, namely NE between roughly The Plough and Cassiopeia?

Sad  Shame because, you should have got a cracking view......still a lovely night and you must get a cracking night sky.

Hmm....doesn't sound good..(the reservoir that is...not you being er um chained up)

I suppose in the scheme of things a resevoir would be better than an airport or motorway?  Shoot me down if I'm wrong.

I wish Reg, I wish.

It could be worse and be an airport, they proposed an airport as a ploy to get the permission for the resevoir.  It just annoys me that they have just spent millions re-doing our old canal and maintaing the old water ways and encouraging wildlife, now the want to build a massive mound on top of it and fill it full of water.  Think of the pong and the insects it would bring in summer, I already get eaten alive as it is. Also what would of happened if it had of over flowed in the recent floodings. Rant over.

I love stars they are so twinkly.

Look just under the "W" of cassiopeia (NE ish). That's where Perseus is and they will be coming from.
