That was Kenny Allen...The keeper in the '85-'86 season.

He must have been in his late 50's now.

if kenny allen wasn't in goal macaris team would have won.he threw about 3 in bless him.
the plane was done,shearer is fat, but if allen was in that goal would have had about 5,white still runs around like he hasn't got a clue,merson was a class above(but that twat on the mike licked his arse continuously)
it was a decent night and good fun.
bryan wade as mentioned scored the best goal.

The most enjoyable 4 hours I have spent at the CG for years.

The winners after was great.  Jan is a legend!!! The real Jan that is!!

Kenny Allen in one goal, Steve Book the other. Players on show: calderwood, lingy (dominated), boding and kerslake, kammy (took it very seriously) Leigh Barnard - who for me was excellent, tom jones, nicky summerbee, kammy's son at left back, phil king - who was subbed about 7,456 times, jon gittens, Duncan Shearer - massive!, Chalkie, dave hockaday, ooh shaun taylor, john gorman... to name a few.

Good football played, slow pace but good movement, nice touches and Jan bagged three. got the stand doing aeroplanes. Barnard was excellent, Lingy also good. Book was awesome in one goal, and guest aul merson was outstanding. Missed Hockaday's goal as was interviewing Jan the man - who was sub at the time.

Must admit, having inerviewed Town's squad for the last 7 years it was a delight to meet the players that got me hooked to this club. Shearer a nice bloke, jan just loved talking about town and Nijholt didn;t have a bad word to say.

Had the pleasure of watching the game in the pleasure of super sammy and  ian 'spud' herring, one of the nicest blokes you could wish to meet, just signed for Salisbury.

Jan's Chief Exec at Lillestrom now, and isn't Nijholtdoing well for himself.  Maybe the FC could have approached them to join the takeover, now that would have been worth a good battle with the Board.

Shame the CG wasnt packed out. Was quite emmotional seeing so many legeneds of my time as a fan. A very enjoyable evening!

that was brilliant and the most enjoyable football game I've been to in ages.

The touch, movement, control and vision  of some of the players is still a cut above anything we've had in the last 10 years.

I know it was slow paced and all that, but the cross field passing was superb. It was brilliant to watch.

So glad we got to see the aeroplane - only reason I went to be honest!

Only thing it lacked was a Shaun Taylor header from a corner.

Merson was ace and still better than anything we've got in midfield, Kammys still got a right engine on him.

Fantastic night, so many memories came flooding back. Not least the two great forwards Fjortoft and Shearer getting on the score sheet. What a pleasure to see them all grace the pitch. Sure the legs (and in some cases waiste) has gone but the touch and the vision is still outstanding. I'm in no doubt football (and STFC) is not like the old days. Sadly.

Phil King deserves a massive pat on the back for making this happen. And for a great cause too.

And thanks to Fred for organising the TEF VIP night. Superb.
