My take FWIW is that the new keeper is being foisted on Sturrock by George and Brevitt.

I was just thinking the very same thing Reg.

I noticed that Mohamed has some Portuguese in him......conspiracy theory, I think not.

What do we need the most, a striker or 3 keepers?

If Sturrocks been told he has to offload before he can bring anyone in, who have we got that will bring in some cash?

If Brez goes, he goes. Smithy did wonders last season and if this new bloke is any good, he'd be an ideal back up.

We are a selling club, we would be whoever was in charge. if Sturrock has to do this to get the team he needs, so be it.

It's all crap though, Brez aint going anywhere.........

If that was the case though surely that would imply the takeovers dead in the water and were up shit creak again....

Hopefully this is just 2+2=5035052052

Idle speculation, namely we need strikers, have 2 good goalkeepers so avoid signing strikers but get an unknown goalkeeper who we don't need.

This doesn't strike me as the work of a rational man, which I consider Sturrock to be.

OK. I've gone away and had a think over a glass of wine and a cream cracker or two (Things often seem a lot clearer when you do that)

I agree that no team at our level has three keepers (other than some kid from the youth team who does no more than sit on the bench at best)

I think Sturrock is controlling this situation though. I agree with the theory that if this French kid is ok (perhaps he will play him at Exeter tomorrow) he will look to off load Brez to the highest bidder so that he can make a decent offer for Asamoah who it looks like will cost some money due to having a year left on his contract and the fact that Nice are supposedly interested. That is how I see this unfolding.

Let's face it. Anyone who thinks that any club in Division 3 could possibly hold on to two keepers of the calibre of Smith and Brezovan for any length of time is kidding themselves.

That's my bit of idle speculation for the day Cool

Totally agree, at times Luggy did not even have 2 keepers on the bench last season when Brez was playing, so that would mean that we would have 2 keepers and one would not even get on the bench or play in the reserves as Luggy likes all his players that don't play in the 1st team to play in the reserves to keep fitness levels up.

Brez's english is really good now as well so he can communicate with the defence effectively.

There were scouts watching Brez last season before he got injured, and the clubs may have rekindled their interest now he has shown he is over his injury, to have 2 keepers of the calibre of Smith & Brez at this level is unusual, and remember it cost us to buy Brez when at the time they was saying there was no money.

I would imagine that there has been interest shown in Brez and that Sturrock is covering his bases by having a look at this young lad in case anything comes of it and it would give him a ready made replacement if the lad is of a decent standard.

IF and I say if Brez does go surely we would be able to command a good fee for him and decent add on's as well, but it may be Smith that is being looked at though....

I would say either keeper would be able to hold their own in the championship though.

Why? Who's buying us, Roman Abramovich's brother?

Even when (If) the takeover is complete, we'll still sell players to balance the books, squad wise.

Just like 99% of lower league clubs.

As I said in my first post though, I don't think Brez is going anywhere just yet. He spent most of last season injured, if anyone was going to come in for him, I imagine it'll be more likely to happen in January once he's proved he's as good as he was before the break.
