Really good striker at this level seems to be another one that has slipped through our grasp. Why are we not looking at players like this ?

Was about to post the same thing, really think we have missed the boat on this one.  He has been a regular scorer in the lower leagues and available on a free as well, there is no doubt we should have approached him  Sad

Sturrock knows the type of striker he is after.

I know it's only natural to look at strikers joining other teams, but Luggy plays to a certain pattern and we need players that will be able to do that.

I noticed on the OS that Sturrock is optimistic about getting someone in before the shitty game, which, if true, blows a big hole in this 'transfer embargo' stuff.

Yes but Boyd is a striker that fits the mould not only is he a goal scorer but he is also good in the air and would be perfect for Sturrocks style of getting plenty of crosses into the box.  Personally cannot understand why we didn't talk to him.

Meeeeeh. He's done fuck all for about 2 years now, despite having a good record at Hartlepool.

Sturrock knows what he's doing.

Maybe we did talk to him - maybe he wanted too much or perhaps he's not see as good enough - heis career has certainly plateaued of late.  I'm backing Sturrock to find what we need at this stage.

I agree he didnt make it in the championship and was perhaps out of his depth but at this level he has done it before.  His career record is about 1 in every 3 games, IMO thats what we need.  Would have been a great addition to the squad even if we had 2 better strikers ahead of him.

Dont worry though we have the mighty Blair Sturrock

This lack of firepower/ability to recruit is proving very costly

not yet it isn't Barty. It'll only prove costly if we get relegated on goal difference.

Which we won't.

Give over Bart, you can be pessimistic about everything but a lack of strikers... if the season kicks off and we have made no signings then be concerned, now yet. Christ alive you're miserable.
