I think she's a bit fucked, in terms of the fact she'll have to claim off her own insurance and run the risk of losing her own no-claims bonus.
How serious was the accident? Surely the bloke in question would prefer to pay for any damage and keep the accident quiet?! I was lucky enough to meet a few uninsured drivers and a lot of them got little more than a slap on a wrist...
