At Cirencester yesterday evening I sat in the main stand. My attention wandered from the "action" on the pitch; cant think why! and I looked around the stand. In the back row Willie was sitting next to Mike D. Willie seemed affable and chatted fairly knowledgeably to people around him about the team. At one stage M D pointed to John Granville and asked Willie who he was. Willie replied " John Granville, the new goalkeeping coach"
The accepted wisdom is that nothing moves at STFC without Mike's say so and that Willie knows nothing. Here then was a complete role reversal; Willie as Mike's adviser!
The Portuguese in the dark glasses and the snazzy black jacket was also there and sat well away from the Board and didn't seem to acknowledge Mike or Willie in any way. He arrived at the start and left early. He sat with another investor? and Rufus. When he got up to leave Mike and Wyllie's eyes were instantly on him but he didn't want to see them. I got the feeling that Mike and Willie thought he was buggering off!
All idle tittle tattle, I know.

Probably the only way we wil lever find anything out.
Why don't the adver try and speak to Rufus or his freinds when at a game and report what he says, even if he tells them to go away.
I see that Sturrock is saying that he has been at every meeting with the new investors.....I wish he would concentrate on the team and but out of matters that are not for him to deal with

Errrr. How are the investors nothing to do with Sturrock? If I was in his situation I'd like to meet the new boss to discuss things like my player budget. There's lot's of genuine things to moan about, but picking at things like that makes you fit pretty well into the irrational busy body stereo type that got mentioned by a certain someone recently. And not in a good funny way. |

Yes these smaller, more intimate grounds make it much easier for a reporter to approach people; perhaps at Forest Green.... although I expect they have a standard reply ready. It interests me that these people are openly amongst us as it were but nobody seems to know anything about them or even names.
Is anybody from MI5(and 6 as their foreign) on this forum?

Errrr. How are the investors nothing to do with Sturrock? If I was in his situation I'd like to meet the new boss to discuss things like my player budget. They have not even taken over the club yet so how can Sturrock be discussing a budget when it is not confirmed, it's not as if he will be able to work to their budget at the moment is it ? Yes he may like to meet them but it is not down to him to be in meeting's when they are disussing figures for the club or what certain things mean in the accounts. I'd rather by interested at what is going on than sticking my head in the sand and saying la la la I can't hear you, so if you want to label me a busy body go ahead I don't give a shit ! |

You're not doing anything particularly useful though are you? Making the same points over and over again and then picking at pretty pointless criticisms. Everybody's worried about's what going on, and some of the discussion and speculation is pretty cool. There's a difference between this and boring bitching for the sake of it. It's getting really really boring, to the point where it seems like some people are more worried about finding things to moan about than they are of finding out what's going on at the club. Yawn. |
