http://www.thisisswindon.co.uk/display.var.1540235.0.shuffle_to_the_music.php

What's this you ask? It is an event made up of 4 nights of quality live music from Swindon bands. The aim is to raise money for the Prospect Hospice and showcase some of the best local music talent around. Why am i posting this? Well i am helping to promote it. There are no fewer than 40 bands playing over 6 venues and 4 nights. It's going to be one big great show!

The event will begin on Thursday at the Winners Lounge (yes that place) when my band Thorne and Durera support The Unforeseen in what looks to be a great night! I reckon with media attention we could help to raise loads of money for charity. So if you are doing nothing this weekend i urge you to come and check out one of the shows. The Vic is Friday night (20th July), The Rolleston and The Furnace on Saturday 21st and 12bar and The Beehive on Sunday 22nd. And of course on Thursday 19th. We can raise loads for this!

Just thought id let people know what is going on and what kind of event this is. Would be good to raise some money for a great cause.

Cheers

If anyone's going to the vic leg then hang about for a bit and I'll meet you in there for a pint after I finish work.

I suppose it's a possibility. I'm definitely getting drunk on friday as it's results day.

I just remembered I'll get my blood test results back by the end of the week as well, so hopefully I'll have reason to celebrate rather than drown my sorrows.

perfect. That was our worst ever gig! That was the night we played in Fusion at 21:00 and then Soda at 10:30. The guitar broke and we couldn't fix it so had to use someone elses guitar and then the bassist snapped his G string because he was coming up on beans. Fucking losers!

We're a bit better now, more chilled and have keys in the band aswell.

The other band was called the Sturgis Armoury and you're talking about Gibbo. he cracks me up!

Rich I am reliably informed by Flammable Ben that I saw your band Friday night in the Bell.  I was on the table down the end and thought you guys were good, the Weller tribute were alright as well.

Ace! It wasn't a bad night to be fair. Were you next to the door then? I don't really remember many people bar the people that were next to the stage bit making some noise at the end  Cool

Yes we had a table down towards the front door.  At the end of most songs we made noise and I think we did at the end as well, although Friday turned into a messy night so cant 100% recollect it  Cheesy  Everyone we were with enjoyed your band, you play good modern indie and I cant remember a song that I didn't like.
