I got this email yesterday. It states Members of The Swindon Lynx Ice Hockey Team will be there. Aren't they the Wildcats since 2004?

Quote

Good afternoon.

A reminder that Swindon Town Football Club will be holding a Community Open Day on Sunday 29th July 2007.

The Club can now reveal more details of the day with all supporters invited to come along and meet the new-look squad, as well as the coaching staff and manager Paul Sturrock!

Attractions and stalls confirmed for the day so far include:

-         Football in the Community Fun Challenge

-         Swindon Borough Council Disaster Truck

-         Next Generation Gym

-         Swindon Speedway stars and bikes on show

-         Members of The Swindon Lynx Ice Hockey Team

-         Barbury Horse Trials Information

-         Cannons Gym

-         Display from new main sponsors Kingswood

-         Streets for Living Stall

-         Bouncy Castle

-         Motorworld

Club staff will be on hand between 11am and 4pm to assist with a tour of the stadium, and fans can also book season tickets and select their seats for the new League One season (with over 3,000 Season Tickets already sold!)

Attractions and offers from the club on the day include:

-         Launch of the 2007/08 Home Kit

-         Meet the entire first team squad

-         Junior Robins Membership Information

-         Launch of the 1969 Legends DVD

-         Q and A with Paul Sturrock

Businesses and individuals alike will be able to meet members of the Commercial Department and also sample the corporate hospitality facilities available at The County Ground.

If you are a business or individual who would like a stall at The County Ground on the day, then please call the Sales and Marketing team on 0844 8801086.

It should be a day to remember so put the date in your diary and we look forward to seeing you at The County Ground later this month.

Thank you for your time. If you would prefer not to receive similar communications from the club in the future, please email back with the word 'remove' in the subject header.

Kind Regards,

Ben Lambert

That's give us enough money to buy Ronaldinho I'd have though.

WTF?

That's just a list of people wanting to sell us unrelated items, well apart from the Bouncy Castle to keep the kids occupied for hours.  Sounds like an expo for local businesses, not a list of attractions and stalls.

What are Kingswood doing? cladding the Town End or something.

An ideal chance to have put on a big community related day with lots of stuff for families etc and we get a microcosm of the NEC on UK Plastic Industry Show weekend.

surely Burdens Electronics should have a "stall" to flog us all DVD's etc, and that Double Glazing firm on the corner of Manchester Rd could arrange appointments.  And why are the porsititutes of County Rd/Manchester rd not represented to sell their fayre?
