FWIW, and so as to avoid any confusion/rumours etc - Bill is not a mystery figure behind the so-called "New Consortium", although he has said on the record some weeks ago that if the club do attract new investors he would be very happy to sit down and talk with them. But the Brevett thing is not linked to Bill.

This can only be the work of the new Consortium IMHO.

This begs the following questions ;

Is the investment further advanced than we were told or imagined

OR

Is this a pre-cursor to any investment taking place

If the answer to either/both of those is "YES" then we are clearly in for interesting times.

Gentlemen, the clearout will begin in earnest

umm where's their blueprint then...have I missed something, I thought all that had been done is to appoint Brevett ??

This just smacks of external influences P2P.

Why would the current board appoint another Director to add to the already top heavy structure when a possible take over is just weeks away, and if it is the current boards decision, the why go for a sporting director when the club has never gone down that route in the past ?

My guess is the fact that Brevitt acting as a direct link between the new consortium and the team would be the start of there intentions to be involved perhaps a blue print and Fred is drawing links between this.  Personally I felt a valid point, an interesting appointment yes, more interestingly maybe a signal of intent to be heavily involved.

Ok fair enough see what your driving at Fred, I just wonder why Brevett though, he has no experience in that type of role and only retired from playing last season I beleive, and if he wants to get his badges obviously does not intend to pursue this type of role, as I said in the other thread this is the job of a CEO  - what is happening to Starnes ?!

Not 100% correct this is a fairly new position to football as a whole, prime example being Chelsea appointing that Avram Grant who will be undertaking a very similar role acting as a link between the team and the boardroom reporting to the chief executive.

Also on the inexperienced people isn't Steve McManaman doing a similar role for the consortium trying to take over at Birmingham?
