So why did he need to say he was retiring from international football if he wasn't getting in the team anyway?

Was it because he was getting selected for squads so had to go training and travelling here there and everywhere but then didn't make it into the team and he couldn't be arsed with it any more?

Sorry, but I don't follow England very closely.

That was as funny as f*** though. Fair play to Carragher.
