Pompous twat.

I dont like Sturrock thats a fact but im perfectly happy to hold my hands up and say "that was a good decision" or "fair enough that was a good signing"  We spluttered into league 1 and last years promotion was more about the fantastic start Wise made than anything Sturrock did.

Being as you live in Luxembourg I think its probably fair to say that I saw more of the crap football  that was served up last year than you did and feel im perfectly within my rights to critiisize it and him.I'm not the type to base my opinions on him because of his "legendary" status with Plymouth. He's done nothing here as far as im concerened,he's extremely unlikeable and as for the "quality" of his signings that remains to be seen doesnt it...

So think before you "poo poo" my opinions, its a forum and forums dont really work without contrasting ones I make no apology for them.

I'm with Yeovil on this, How in lords name has he got a 2 year deal. He is a useful squad player but again not a goal scorer and is an infuriating player. Has no pace or left foot and is caught offside an awful lot. 2 years seems stupid to me, but only my opinion obviously.

Although on the plus side Sturrock seems to be wearing a Cowboy Hat in one of the Pic in the Adver today..he's a proper either a proper Dandy or its a subliminal message.

Of course you are entitled to your opinions, however one thing I am not is a pompous twat, I resent that comment.

As for being extremely unlikeable, I think most of the Sheffield Wednesday fans would probably disagree with you.

IIRC, Sturrock Jnr was injured for the best part of last season and wasn't fully fit at the end of it.

Blair doesn't appear to get any preferential treatment from his dad (As lasts seasons appearances showed) so I think that nepotism is pretty unlikely.

You can look at 2 year deals positively or negatively, but if Luggy thinks he's worth it, that's good enough for me.

As to Sturrock Snr and his input into last season, well we went up and Wise pissed off in October, so I think he's gotta partly responsible for it Cheesy

apology accepted, I can't stand pretentious people!

I wasn't deliberately trying to be argumentative, I now understand a bit more of where you are coming from and accept your views and opinions!

You still can't dance though!  :face:

Just one point - weren't we 5th when Sturrock took over and finished 3rd?

as did our best winning streak.

Sturrock took over after the ill fated Williams period, where the whole club went through something of a quagmire over about a month (not his fault).

I'm happier with Sturrock in charge than Wise to be honest. I liked Dennis and thought he did a great job for our football club but I always felt that I would wake up one morning, open the paper or log on to here and he'd have gone, right out of the blue.

Sturrock will stick around a lot longer and his track record suggests that he will sort this club out sooner rather than later. He knows exactly how he's going to do it, even if that means signing loads of defenders and two injured forwards

Last season sure as hell was not pretty but Sturrock's done nothing yet for me to dislike him as a person or doubt his ability.

i have to say i'm delighted! we have someone

to run into channels and beyond the defence-sturrock
to hold up play-peacock (when used as striker)
is a battering ram-akinweewaa

i think a lot of what blair does go unnoticed due to use having an unimaginitive midfield for most of last season (he wasn't here when evans could breath without an ironlung). he runs beyond the backline and tries things differently to how the rest of our strikers do, which is ace.

we need an out n out fast striker and then i think we'll have all the bases covered (i'm still holding onto peacock playing up top...i think the fact we've signed quite a few midfielders-none of which appear wingers-could signal this)
