If he played a part in us getting promoted then he'd either deserve the chance to keep the bench warm or I doubt we'd have much trouble getting a bit of cash for him.

Isn't his Mum his Agent? who gets the commission from dad signing him up?
Macca, players like Ifil deserve to get decent length contracts, it's what you use to atrract and retain the best talent. Sturrock however should never be much more than a bit part League 1 player, so offering him 2 years seems a tad odd. he's going to be another one of those players that just follows in Dads name.

Shakes scored a vital odd goal here and there, doesn't mean he deserves a 2 year contract. Evans offered far more in the near 20 games he featured, but he doesn't get a new contract (I agree BTW, although I'd have offered him a month to month). I just don't see a player like him being given 2 years if he is not called Sturrock. Mind you, I'd probably offer him a 2 year deal if it were me in the same position

Worth 1 year as a squad player.
But I'm very happy with the other signings so far, so I'l;l let Sturrock off this one mishap. I'm sure he'll be delighted.

He will be one of the hardest working players in the squad IMO and also one who may well improve significantly. Hes got critics to improve and a father to impress.
Unless he works his socks off he will be benchwarming and I'm sure hes well aware of that.

When he took over we were in League 2, we are now in League 1 and seem to be building a half decent squad of players. My point is obvious, even if Sturrock signed Christiano Ronaldo on loan for a season you'd probably say it was a terrible signing.

I don't think Sturrock jnr is shit by any means.
I also don't think Sturrock snr thought to himself "Ooooh, I know, Blair is my son so I will give him a longer contract than if he was not my son"
He's giving players longer contracts accross the board which is right IMO.
I think if anything he treats him more harshly because he is his son. I think Blair should have started more games than he did last season.
And I don't think everything Sturrock does is a work of genius either (senior or junior)
