I'm all for people taking responsibility for their own safety and all but jesus... why not just wear a kevlar jacket and an army helmet all the time if you are that worried you'll be gunned down in a mad gun rampage ?  probably got just as much chance of stopping you getting injured as you beating someone else in a wild west style draw, plus the air would be a less thick with lead for all the sane people walking by.

Crazy talk, unsurprising from the yanks.  I think that women needs it pointing out to her that the more people who carry guns then perhaps the more people will use them?

It's absolutely fucking mental. It's also one pretty fucked up nation. I'm fully expecting it to split apart in a not really that violent civil war.

plus the nutter got the gun one of two ways:  legally, in which case their control system is crap; or illegally, he stole one or bought a stolen one which is hugely helped by the fact there are so many legal guns around to steal, in which case their system is crap.

Fucking yanks. They're just super paranoid....

At least they have a sense of humour...

Erm to be fair the article then goes on

But Suzanna Hupp does not have to imagine.

It was October 1991 when a gunman entered the diner where Suzanna, a Texan chiropractor, was having lunch with her parents.

The man methodically executed 23 people including Suzanna's parents

but americans need guns, otherwise the king of england could just walk into their house and start bossing them around. And they wouldn't like that

It is certainly odd walking in a Wallmart, going up to what looks like a jewellery counter and finding it full of guns and ammo.  Almost tempting in fact.

I just get wound up by this.
American's think they need guns to defend themselves from people with guns.

Don't something like 5% of American's have a passport? If more of them got out of the States once in a while perhaps they would see that it is possible to live without gun crime being a major part of life. Funnily enough, I don't think I've ever seen a handgun in my life....and guess what, I don't know anybody who's bee shot either!!!
