That's just the BBC's interpretation of the press release. They know no more than we do.

That's just the BBC's interpretation of the press release. They know no more than we do. The club said the consortium included long-time owner the Wills family, their advisor and club general manager Mike Diamandis, and a new investor.

It's lazy journalism. Maybe so, but the Official Club Statement clearly reads the Wills family and Mike Diamandis have managed to attract significant investment to form a New Consortium so Magic's concern remains valid. Its a bit like Mike Wilks attracting investment from Bill Power & Phil Emmel in the form of a Consortium, therefore leading one to make an ASSUMPTION that the Wills family and Diamandis are part of this new Consortium. I guess time will tell. I'm sceptical but will refrain from being openly critical until some meat is put on those bones.

I can't believe the big announcement we all waited, the annoucement that was going to put all of our worries at bay is
"wait for another 8 weeks we'll be alright."
Sorry but that is nothing to get excited about.
Disappointed to say the least.
(PS thanks to Barry Scott for text message updates earlier)

I'm trying to remain fairly open minded about the whole thing.
If the consortium is made up of SSW, Diamandis & the new investor then there's not neccesarily the need for worry. For the amount of money they're touting (to clear current debts and take the club forwards) the new investor is going to want a significant say in the day to day running of the club.
So if Diamandis is part of the consortium, it doesn't mean he'll get to call the shots any more.

It's lazy journalism. No offence, but I know who wrote that, and he's certainly not "lazy" in his work. It's very unfair to criticise behind the mask of anonymity, especially when you don't actually know for a fact it's "lazy journalism".

I'm trying to remain fairly open minded about the whole thing. Me too Sam. But its difficult given the history of this current regime. This sums up my feelings right now.

did you write it then? if so, it was definitely lazy journalism...
whoever wrote it read the same into it as i did. unfortunately they also got this bit wrong:
"The Wills family have two directors on the club's board (Sir Seton and son James)"

Sonic, mate, you don't know the circumstances of how the story was written. Until you do, I suggest you refrain from making assumptions over the professionalism of someone who is very good at their job.

So are you saying this person has spoken to the club, or has just written the article using the press release?
