the film needs...

three locations; an old pub, a school and a row of terraced houses.
four characters with speaking parts; half a dozen extras.
lots of cigarettes.
a couple of pints.

it'd be dirt cheap to make, all i need is the actors, locations, a camera, a contraption to do smooth tracking/panning shots and editing software.

Bennett's a good actor. He does quality impressions of Fred and Millom.

i suppose one tricky part is that two of the characters are the same but different ages. so we need someone who can look 16 and 40. well, two people.

i went to studio on saturday night (fuck knows why) and it was full of 16 year olds and 40 year olds and no-one in between. could be a good place to scout for casting.

no need to be condescending.

torture will achieve nothing. it will only make them a martyr to their cause.

not to mention that it's utterly inhumane, did allied soldiers torture germans in ww2?

Depends on who you beleive and what you have read Sonic.
Ive a few reads you might find interesting.

Bringing it back to modernity, Extraordinary Rendition seems to be a word that has been doing the rounds recently.

I am not saying that we torture anyone, but allegedly ER does happen and with British help if you beleive the media.
And i aint talking Medical soaps here either.

In all honesty, in general no.

But it's hard to give a definitive answer unless there is some context. I would if it was the only way to stop my family being killed (e.g. preventing a definite nuclear strike). I wouldn't be volunteering to go on a half arsed effort like Iraq.

If it was the second world war over again, hard to say.

Not willingly to be honest, partly because military life really doesn't appeal, and partly because any major conflict is likely to be driven by the USA/money/oil and not in my eyes a genuine conflict whch would require the volume of troops that past conflicts have required - technology has changed the nature of conflict since WWII IMHO.  It's like the old national service question, I'll be furious if it was reintroduced and I was forced to join up under the guids of stopping anti-social behaviour.  Tehre is no compelling argument to make it viable.

Bit like Batch, I wouldn't generally ever consider signing-up unless in very extreme circumstances.  Quite frankly I still don't get why anyone would ever want to start a war, too much desire to solve problems by resorting to weapons.
