More recently, driving back from Strasbourg I got flashed by a speed camera doing 180kmh in a 110kmh limit (sorry, don't know the MPH equivalent) but have never received anything in the post.

 Shocked

You were lucky....  That's 115mph in a 70mph!  That'd have been a ban if you'd been done in this country!

When I had my license...  Crying  ... I was quite good, but still managed to get done for 71mph in a 60mph by a speed camera.  It was on a dual carriageway at night and the 60mph signs hadn't been lit up...  Didn't bother appealing though, as it isn't worth arguing with the fuzz.

The thing is, I didn't even realise I was driving at that speed. I normally sit at about 120-140kmh however in my car, doing 115mph doesn't seem very fast if that makes sense? If Ralphy was here he would agree with me, I miss Ralphy! Crying

Don't break the speed limit and you won't get points.  Break the speed limit then don't complain when you are caught.

I don't give a shit whether the cops are being sneaky or not, I'm man enough to know the limits are not just put there for decoration,  If i decide to ignore it and get caught then it's my own fault.

People moaning about getting caught speeding really does wind me up.

agree,if you speed then its tough if you get caught.
having said that, the way cameras are strategically placed just after limit changes is cuntinsh.especially on unfamilair roads to the drivers

Beckett they don't need to pull you over nowadays, you'll just get a letter through the post if you were speeding.

If you didn't get pulled over, and you were sure you were only doing 41-42 you won't hear anymore about it. Just because they pointed the gun at you doesn't mean you were 'caught'

Some areas are now issuing official warning letters, saying that you were exceeding the speed limit , but no action will be taken on this occasion.

fair enough if you're doing more than 5mph over the speed limit but there's not a single driver in this country who has never accidentally creeped over the speed limit. i do it every fucking day, especially as the roads around here are pretty quiet.
