Most of em seem to come from Chiswick or Richmond, or Chelsea.
Posh Fuckers. Oi. I hate what happens with the support for whoever is playing, and it'd piss me off no end trying to play tennis and having so many Pimm-sed up yuppies shouting COME ON TIM! when there's any quiet. What I don't get is the hatred of Henman because of these idiots. He's a tennis player trying to do his job and beat whoever he's playing at the time. Over the last 10 years he's had to put up with stupidly over-expectant crowds groaning when he (a player of limited ability) doesn't beat the best in the world. When I ask my mates why they hate him, they say 'He never wins!'. Well fuck off and watch Federer then. Go and shout your stupid COME ON ROGER! at every single moment for 10 years. Henman is just a man. Perhaps he's a cunt, I don't know and I don't really care. But he is a good tennis player who has consistently over performed (at Wimbledon) and the crowd are fuckin arseholes. /rant |

Tim's such a "nice" middle class public school boy with a "nice" middle class public school boy's haircut, and a "nice" middle class public school boy's attitude. The most passionate he gets is that half hearted clenched fist thing he does. Like many people I just can't think of him as a sporting hero, he reminds me of a course leader at an Outward Bound centre for disadvantaged children, or a trendy young vicar. |

I find tennis a bit boring and for me it's the middle class plastic fans who turn up in their union jack for two weeks a year to cheer on 'tiger tim'. It's symptomatic of the sport which has largely struggled (unlike cricket) to popularise itself to the 'normal' people, and is still heavily rooted in the middle classes. I find the whole corporate face of the strawberries and cream pretty underwhelming too. I guess being a football fans makes it hard to understad the 'emotion' of other sports, whether it be a try, a wicket, or a set unless it's the decisive one none of them quite have the same significance as a goal.

And I fancy Henman's wife. Very true - I think it's just that Henman's persona (as opposed to 'competitive' spirited chaps like Murray and Rusedski) personifies the stereotypical tennis fan. |

Henman's a wanker. as an Aussie newpaper once reported, his nickname "Tiger Tim" must be the most inappropriate sports nickname of all time. His more of a pussy (cat) than a tiger.
Eddie The Eagle deserves his name more than Tiger Tim.

Henman is a posh wanker, in his first year at Wimbledon he got in a tantrum because he was losing and nailed a ball right at a 14 year old ball girl and almost knocked her out. He got thrown out (whoopy doo as he would have lost anyway) and a small fine and that was it because Daddy is an executive member at Wimbledon. He had half of the LTA's coaching resources pushed in his direction thanks to Daddy and has still won fuck all. The bloke shows everything that is wrong with British Tennis, you have to be from a multi millionaire family to get anywhere.
Henman himself is about as exciting as a plank of wood and is a choker, on any important point his second serve will invariably just be guided in and most half decent players are on it in a flash hence the lack of grand slam success outside of Wimbledon.
