Some one please explain to me like I'm a dumb ass.

What EXACTLY is the record that Parkin is after?  Don't just paste what was on the Adver site because that didn't explain it properly.

What EXACTLY is Peter Eastoe's record???

Reg? Anyone?

Is it just a club record for goals scored at this level?

My impression is that Eastoe scored 26 goals in one season and it is that that parkin is trying to break!

Of course it is just a modern day record not an all-time swindon record!

......there is a bit of crap going on here, because they keep going on about SSP scoring 20 goals for 3 consecutive seasons,  but the real currency is league goals scored and last season SSP managed 19.

The post war record for a season is jointly held by Bill Stephens in 46/47....Bob Edwards on 56/57 and Peter Eastoe in 74/75 and is 26 league goals.

SSP managed 25 in his first season....and now has 21? so a chance to break the post war record.

I would imagine so as it is part of the league campaign!

No PO's don't count as part of the season.....they count as other in goalscoring charts.

PO's are a separate comp at season's end.

Interesting! Suppose that makes sense really!  Never really realised they actually classed the play-offs as a sepearate comp altogether, just assumed it was an extension of the same comp!

Thanks for the increase in knowledge Reg!  Smiley

I've had this conversation with you before I believe and it seems as if some people consider it as league goals/appearances and some don't, there's no real consistency to it. For the sake of Sammy I'll pretend it does count as league gaosl.

I don't think Mr Richard Banyard counts them as league goals.  I'm sticking with that.  Pressure's on Sam.

Oh, in that case I'm wrong, and if you'll all permit me, I'd like to swap sides in this discussion.  Thank you.

Why have they only started mentioning the record this season then?  I'm sure nothing was said about it in the previous two seasons when he obviously came close?
