You certainly did, best 2 teams in the league. Seems like our riders had engine problems all night and we were lucky to take all 3 points. Tomaz Chrzanowski is normally miles better and he had a poor night.

I think it was heat 8, TC suffered engine failure 20 metres before the line, when on for 5-1!

Oh, and Jason Crump's father and grandfather were still racing when I used to go  Oops  Oops

Phil Crump was the complete professional athlete..shame he once rode for Bristol and Newport....
Great times....don't forget Geoff Boulchard and later on Rolf Granstad
and obviously Jan Andersson.

My favourite was Steen Mastrup. Poor bloke had some horrific crashes and injuries. Seemed everytime he recovered and got good he crashed again! Also remember the following:

Jan Verner (Dirty bugger but not as good as his brother Vaclav)
Milan Spinka - Better at ice speedway
Steve Gresham - Former Bulldog - Raced buggies in the US before being pick inside!
Geoff Bouchard was a battler. Last away from the tapes but always fought back.
Martin Hewlett - Local lad, wored his way up from, mascot to junior to reserve to looking quite good. Watched him win his first second half final and collapse dead whilst being interviewed!
Rolf Gramstad became good when he moved from Swindon. Involved in a nasty accident and was wheelchair bound ever since.
Kai Niemi - Better for Eastbourne than Swindon
Scott Autrey - Better for Exeter than Swindon
Mike Ferreira - When his bike exhaust smelled sweet he flew. When it didn't he didn't!
Steve Bastable - Poseur after shock British final win.
Bjorn Andersson - Not as good as older brother Jan
David Ashby - Not as good as older brother Martin
Gordon Kennett - Well past sell by date when he joined.
Rob Henry - Rubbish!

And the list goes on.....
