well the very same bloke said we'd have investment in "3 weeks or so" about a month and a half ago. why should we believe him now? the CVA will probably be renegotiated and we'll be back to square one again this time next year

I'm sure what he's saying is not true anyway. If he varies the terms of the CVA any of the creditors have the right to then issue a winding up order ... I'm sure that is the case.

Town can go to extra time’
By Andy Cryer

TOWN fans have been assured their club is not just a fortnight away from meltdown after the man charged with sorting their debts revealed he can see no problems with extending the repayment period.

The club's future has had an shadow looming ominously over it, with £900,000 owed to creditors by the end of the month, but with new investors deep in talks at the County Ground the man holding Town's future in his hands says time is still on their side.

Company' Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) administrator Andrew Andronikou, pictured, claims he has the discretion to "extend and vary" the debts as he wishes and has assured fans there is no way he will let the club fail.

He has also urged supporters to believe in the potential new investment at the County Ground, revealing the funds may soon be available to pay off the creditors by the end of June anyway.

He said: "I have the discretion to do what I think is right for everyone. That is where it starts and ends really.

"No matter what some people say, as long as I think it is in the interests of everyone to extend the deadline then I can extend or vary it as I see fit.

"The CVA agreement is not a matter of handcuffing clubs, the reason for it is to be commercial. I am confident the funds will soon be there so I have no problem with extending the time frame."

Andronikou's revelation last month about a potential mystery new investor' at the County Ground has been met with understandable cynicism, but he has again urged fans to believe the club's future will soon look a lot rosier.

He said: "For that reason as long as the negotiations I know are going on continue, in terms of funding, fans have no need to worry unduly.

"If I am satisfied the interests of the creditors are being met, I can extend it, and I am very confident they will be.

"After years of fighting, there is no way I am going to let this club fail now. It is not going to be long, a few weeks maybe, before the club gets some really positive news.

"It isn't impossible the funds will be available to meet the original time anyway."

While talks with the new investor continue, club officials are unable to comment on the matter but Andronikou admitted: "The sooner everything is put to bed, the quicker everyone can get back to concentrating on what is important - football - and forget the politics.

"The 20 or 30 busybodies can then find something else to do and put their minds on."

Bill Power and other leaders of the fans' consortium bidding to take control of the club were unavailable for comment last night.

Agreed, however if he does manage to extend it and theres no backlash for it then mayeb we should be slighly relieved as theres no toehr way i can see us getting off the CVA this summer.

Anyone want to explain how an accountant can "extend and vary the debts as he wishes" is this some classic book cooking going on?

If he can vary the CVA then why has he left it with 2 weeks to go and still not done anything about it, what's he going to do, get to June 30 say right they haven't paid, then write to all creditors and tell them your not getting your money as they can't afford it and you will have to wait until I tell you you can have your money iot maybe a year or it maybe 10 until they have the money..tough luck.

Androniku seems to be working inthe best interestests of STFC not the creditors.

Oh and the 20 or 30 busy body's...if that is what we are, I think you will find there is a lot more than that - and we care about what happens at this football club, so why don't you just crawl back under the rock you appeared from and do what you are paid to do.

Swindon Council have already publicly stated that they will not accept any variance on the debt, both in ammount payable and when it needs to be paid.

"If I am satisfied the interests of the creditors are being met, I can extend it, and I am very confident they will be"

Well there's one case that the interests are not being met.

Andronikou................................you are a complete fucking tool !

Can you really see Swindon Borough Council actively being responsible for the closure of the towns football club?!?! That would be an absolute PR nightmare!
