So Bill Power has finally shown why he is so keen to deepen his relationship with STFC - he wants his money OUT. The Board has revealed that delays in talking with the Trust are not down to STFC but due to Mr Power refusing to sign the NDA! I have always been suspicious of Mr Power's motives … why would a QPR fan want to invest in STFC? Unless you are a fan or have shed loads of money (which he is neither) why would he want to invest in STFC in favour of QPR, a club he knows and loves? There is a lot more to this than meets the eye and his latest Media outburst regarding getting his money back starts to make sense.
The Board are absolutely right to be guarded and measured - we do not want a repeat of the Brady debacle. Any opportunist thinking they can make money out of STFC should be treated with suspicion until they convince the Owners and the Board that they are sincere, credible and have the best interests of STFC at heart. The onus is on Mr Power to prove his sincerity and long term funding and at last the truth is coming out. Go back to QPR Mr Power and leave STFC alone.
Lastly, I cannot believe some of the ridiculous views voiced on the Forum and the sense of doom and pessimism amongst the small minority. The Club have just been promoted with attendances well up on last year, season tickets are up by 25% (well done to the Board for freezing prices!!) and we have one of the best Managers in the lower Divisions (again thanks to the Board acting decisively when Wise deserted us). We can look forward to next season with a genuine sense of optimism and the doom and gloom of a minority of contributors is by no means representative of the silent majority.

PErhaps we get too involved in it all and think we're all better than the board of STFC, i agee they have their faults but what are we ment to be, FANS! This to me sounds like the thoughts of a Swindon fan who stays out of the business of the club and perhaps enjoys the sucess we have recently achieved. Maybe the board deserve some credit........ afterall, after wise left they didnt HAVE to get Sturrock, could have seen promotion from withing similar to the Iffy and Reeves saga. Theyve got some things right, lets not tar every decison they make with the same brush, they do some things right.

I would have thought that, given the weather, Mr Whippy would be out making some money, not huddled over his computer spewing out such crap!

sturrock was a very good appointment (arguably better than wise in the first place), but he said himself when he left sheffield wednesday that he'd go to the first club that makes him an offer.

as for getting some things right, well, if you give a monkey a type-writer, sooner or later he's going to produce the works of shakespeare.

(unless that monkey is mike bowden, who doesn't seem to have much of a grasp on technology)

We are better than the board of STFC as we actually have the interests of the club at heart. One good decision in 6 years whoopy doo

Fair comment, but then they must have some will to suceed, SSW wuldnt re-mortgage his estates to raise capital if he didnt have the intrestes of the club at heart. I agree the board are rubbish but then we've had a good year. Money has been spent, granted only on wages, but thank god we havent sunk like teams such as cambridge have. On the pitch things are looking up, hopefully oneday that balance she may on end in a minus sign.

How many on this site were all for the current regime taking over?

We need the CVA paid.

We need investment.

We need Ground redevelopment.

If Bill Power comes in and does that, great.

If somebody else does.....Great.

I don't give a fuck, all I want initially is stability, followed by progression.

Yes Bill Powers money has been spent.........that is the point!

SSW hasn't really put in any money for the last couple of years now

You sound like a bit of an expert Glos, or are you basing everything you say on assumptions and hearsay, or do you actually have insider knowledge?

Now be fair he's got us out the shit enough times for us to be eternally grateful for, if it was not for him we wouldn't exist.

I'm completely convinced that they have spent powers money. Otherwise they wouldn't be so defensive about paying it back to the point we may see a court battle that sees Carson and co chucked out via the top floor of the arkells, Diamond mike will no doubt discuise himself as the concessions manager and take from the tills  Soapy Tit Wank

Look at it this way, if its a loanhe's got the club as they simply cannot pay it back, if its capital, i.e shares then he has a holding of approximately 20%+ in the club.

BP and PE have a holding of 16% of the club itself, according to the document that was submitted to Companies House.

23% of the holding company which owns 70% of STFC = 16%

Where's the expert bit in that? Bowden said that Bill Powers money had been spent and its common knowledge that SSW hasn't got the money left to throw at the club anymore. The money that has came into the club in the last few years has been from Power, transfers, and St Modwens I think the last time SSW put money in was the VAT fiasco
