Maybe if he was flooded with POLITE, RESPECTFUL, emails urging him to deal with the consortium, he would finally take matters into his own hands and put MD in his place.

Can I suggest that somebody writes a template letter that we can all print out and post to him. If we get enough people on board, and all post so they arrive within a few days of each other, it could be a very affective campaign.
Using a template would also stop people 'going off on one' and pissing off a guy that I can say, pretty much for sure, we all have the utmost respect for.
