Although he does state that it has no bearing on where he'll be next season.

I'm not overly concerned by this news.

He's almost 33 and injury prone (which we knew when he signed for us) - yes he was influential in his starts for us but I'd much rather have a good player who can play 46 games than someone who will only play 15.

The only thing that worries me about discarding 'injury-prone' players, is that it comes back to bite you in the ass.

Like Monkhouse for example.  We all thought he'd only play 20 games a season becuase he was a sicknote..........

Perhaps the most vexing thing about Sturrocks injured player policy is the signign of Corr, a player we know will be injured for some time.  I know it's very different for Evans cos of his age, but if Sturrock thinks Easton for example would be a better long term prospect than Evans then you just have to back his judgement.  I didn't see much of Evans and don't doubt his ability but it's no use for 10-20 matches a season.

True. However, the difference between the two is age - I'd very much doubt you'll see Evans playing week in/week out.
