16th July vs Spermarine (A) 18th July vs Cirencester (A) 20th - 27th Austria Tour 31st July vs Bristol City (H) 4th August vs TBC 6th August vs Forest Green Rovers (A) With the season starting on Sat 11th. [Hopefully at home] Any ideas as to who the TBC is? Perhaps Everton as part of the Lucas deal? Leeds as part of the Ken Bates 'is a cock who rips of creditors' deal? Possibly Plymouth? *Ha Ha another Paul Sturrock previous club jubious link! * To be honnest the pre-season looks a bit shite this year, here's hoping the TBC is a Premiership club at home again.

I reckon the TBC could be Derby as they are managed by a Jock.
Plus, they won't exactly have clubs queuing up to play them like Man U, Arsenal etc will.
And their pre-season schedule may well not have been planned as far in advance on the basis that they did not know what division they were going to be playing in until t'other day.

I thought we were supposed to get a pre-season against Everton as part of the Lukas deal? In which case surely TBC will be EFC?

but it always starts on the first weekened in august? Back in the day, the season used to start at the back end of August....during the 90's it crept forward to maybe mid August, then at the end of the 90's it started kicking off first week of August. Personally I prefered a decent break, which would allow a chap to play cricket as well as football....the last of that breed I suppose was Phil Neale who turned out for Worcs and Lincoln City. A good sportsman like Jim Standen, could win a cup final medal with West Ham and then be a major wicket taker for Worcs and win the County Championship in the same season.
